Spread the word-the “Greatest Show on Earth” also known as the Ringling Brothers-Barnum and Bailey Circus, is making a 4-day stopover in the Queen City. Regarded as a true American icon, the circus has been entertaining and amazing crowds around the world for over 140 years!
The circus will be in town from Wednesday January 29th through Sunday February 2nd at the Time Warner Cable Arena. Circus officials are pleased to announce that Charlotte audiences will be treated to the “Built to Amaze!” program.
In Built to Amaze! the Greatest Show on Earth’s international team of performers combine their agility, strength and courage to keep audience members on the edge of their seats. Included in this exciting thrill ride, the Ringling Brothers-Barnum and Bailey Circus also wows the crowd with its majestic elephants, captivating big cats, and cavalcade of clowns. Of course the company’s celebrated acrobats and amazing aerialists will be on hand to take this entertainment phenomenon to new heights!
If it’s been a while since you’ve visited the circus, make plans to see it now as it has never been seen before! Program creators are proud to point out that there are no video screens, just two hours packed with more live music and performance art than most venues could ever hold! Especially noteworthy is the company’s formidable and wonderfully engaging ringmaster, Andre McClain. In addition to being circuses’ first African American ringmaster, he is also the show’s first equestrian-based ringmaster in 100 years! Kansas City native McClain has received accolades across the country for his commanding voice and robust personality.
