January 29th, 2014 by Charlotte Living

Publix is opening in Charlotte in 2014We are so excited for Publix supermarkets to open up in Charlotte!  The Charlotte Business Journal reports that Publix is currently remodeling 7 area Bi-Lo stores and plans to build 4 new stores.

Publix is a popular grocery store with current locations in South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, and Florida.  The Charlotte locations will be the first in North Carolina.

The first Charlotte Publix will open in the Ballantyne Town Center early this year.

From the Charlotte Business Journal:

[Spokeswoman Kim Reynolds] notes Publix is focused on providing variety, freshness, quality and value when it comes to its product offerings, as well as excellent customer service. And, she adds, it has a flexible coupon policy and offers hundreds of dollars worth of buy one, get one free offers each week.

Publix comes to Charlotte with a great reputation as a workplace, for customer service, and for “corporate citizenship.”  In 2011, Publix placed No. 1 on a ranking of 50 companies with the best corporate citizenship reputations, a measure of how the public perceives companies in terms of citizenship, governance and workplace.  This year, Publix again made Fortune Magazine’s list of “100 Best Companies to Work For” for the 17th consecutive year.

We are happy to welcome Publix to Charlotte!
