Easy Traveling to and from Charlotte, NC

January 21st, 2014 by Charlotte Living

Traveling to and from CharlotteAlways Smooth Traveling When Charlotte is Your Home

One of the best things about Charlotte is location, location, location! Our city is beautifully situated between the mountains and the beach. Charlotte Douglas International Airport can connect you to countless U.S. and international destinations.

No matter the time of year, whether you are single and enjoying living in a condominium in hoppin’ Uptown, or a family living in the peaceful South Side of Charlotte; traveling adventures are amazingly easy!

No need to travel more than minutes during the chilly winter months when you live in the Queen City! January is a terrific time to hunker down in the Queen city and enjoy Restaurant Week. During Queens Feast, over 100 upscale restaurants in the Charlotte area offer three courses, or more, for thirty dollars! I love the high-end selection of restaurants in Charlotte, and restaurant week allows even those on a tight budget to enjoy the swanky and critically acclaimed culinary offerings throughout the city. A world tour without leaving Charlotte awaits!
Visit Brazil at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse, Italy at Luce Ristorante e bar, France at George’s Brasserie and universal steak and potatoes at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse!

If a true road trip taking more than your palate outside the January adventures in Charlotte is truly your craving, then a mountain of fun awaits in Blowing Rock, North Carolina!  Winterfest 2014 is three days of food, fun and festivities offering everything from beer, wine and moonshine tastings to Winterfeast featuring food from local restaurants and a Chilly chili cook-off. Hay rides, polar ice plunge into Chetola Lake, snowboarding/skiing lessons and a snow dog building contest are all part of this mountain festival January 23-26th!

If the surf is beckoning you even in the cold months, hop in the car and head to an ocean view at one of many beaches just 2-3 hours from Charlotte!
Myrtle Beach offers a dizzying array of hotels, condominiums and houses along the ocean with special prices during the colder months! Dancing and dining are still in full swing at the beach during the winter months and January 24th and 25th has the National Shag Dance Championship in Myrtle Beach!

Charlotte is an amazing city, beautifully nestled between breath taking mountain ranges and pristine beaches! Truly nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina!
