RESCUE ME! Bush signs a bill to help us with the housing crisis!
July 30th, 2008 categories: Market Trends

President George W. Bush signed into law a bipartisan housing stimulus bill today that is expected to bring greater stability to housing markets nationwide. The bill, strongly supported by the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS®, will help some 400,000 home owners refinance into affordable, government backed loans and offer a temporary first-time home buyer tax credit, which is expected to serve as an attractive incentive to buyers and help reduce high inventories of unsold homes.

Why Charlotte Real Estate is still Booming
July 30th, 2008 categories: Real Estate News
“One of the strengths of our city is that we have pushed to have a diverse economy. Charlotte’s efforts to grow its business community with diverse sectors has helped it to weather the recent downturns in the economy.”
Mayor Pat McCrory
“Why Charlotte Is Booming” is a feature article in the June 2008 issue of US AIRWAYS magazine . The article states “Housing prices and job creation have bucked national trends through much of the recent economic downturn ….. In January 2008, Charlotte real estate was the only market in the country with positive home price appreciation.”
The article boasts for Charlotte:
› 9 Fortune 500 companies headquartered here;
› banking powers (= economic muscle);
› diverse manufacturing;
› transportation: proximity to 60% of the East Coast within a
1-day drive or 2-hr. flight; rail lines; a booming airport;
› bio-technology, from manufacturing to research to healthcare;
› a wealth of colleges & universities;
› tourism & cultural arts, fine dining, & professional sports;
› NASCAR (needs its own line!);
› weather – Charlotte’s “greatest natural resource”;
› fishing, boating, hiking, camping, the beaches & the mountains;
› Easy Living: “a great climate, sizzling economy, affordable
housing, a gracious hospitality” and blue skies;
› a delectable quality of life and a sense of community.
